Bryce Groark is an Emmy Nominated Cinematographer (Mission Blue), Creative Director, Producer, Photographer and Father from Kona, Hawaii. For more than 15 years, he's explored the world (working with National Geographic, ESPN, PBS, Discovery, Travel Channel, A&E, Red Bull +) as a freelance producer and cinematographer specializing in the marine environment.
In 2004, he started Living Ocean Productions, on the Big Island of Hawaii, with the goal of bridging the gap between the scientific community and the general public.
His work has been featured in numerous documentaries, television series, magazines, newspapers and a myriad of international film festivals, museums and aquariums around the world. With more than 6000 hours shooting underwater, Bryce has created meaningful and innovative programming covering issues in more than 50 countries.
For years, his efforts and images have worked to showcase the matters surrounding sharks and whales all over the globe. In 2010, Bryce assisted in helping Hawaii become the safest place in the world for sharks, with the passing of SB2169 - a Bill which prohibits the possession, sale or trade of any shark fin products in the state of Hawaii. Since its passing, SB2169 has been a catalyst which has sparked similar shark legislation in multiple countries and more than 10 other US States and Territories.
Bryce is also Co-Founder and Managing Director of Ocean Preservation Alliance (OPA), an organization that connects scientists and NGOs with super yachts around the world. His work with OPA focuses on creating unique solutions to help solve challenging situations facing humans and the planet. He also sits on the International Board of Directors for WildAid.
